Use Common Sense & Eat A Balanced Diet For Weight Loss

Published October 30, 2012

Weight loss can sometimes be hard to talk about with other people. So much disparate information from all over the place makes it hard to figure out what works and what does not. Use these tips to start losing the extra weight.

If you are aiming to begin an exercise routine but you don’t want to run, do not worry. There are tons of other excellent exercise options. Swimming is a wonderful workout option for those with bad joints, certain health problems or the elderly. Some dance classes can be really beneficial as well.

Once you are about halfway done eating a meal, stop for a few minutes. It can be difficult for some people to tell when they’ve eaten enough food. Make it a habit to stop halfway through every meal. Take a moment to determine if you are actually hungry. When you start eating again, think about how much more food you will need.

Almost everyone enjoys the taste of french fries. They’ve gotten in the way of many people’s weight loss goals. If you want to make healthier fries that are less likely to ruin your diet, consider baking them. Cut potatoes into 1/2″ fries, toss in a large bowl with 1 tbsp. of oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper and a bit of rosemary if you like, and bake in a single layer at 400 degrees for 30 min. Turn the fries over with a spatula and continue baking for about 10 minutes. You will prefer these over the usual deep-fried version because they are scrumptious with ketchup and they have a lot less calories. This recipe was taken from Laurel’s Kitchen Cookbook.
