
Few women look forward to menopause, notorious for its unpleasant symptoms like night sweats and hot flashes. Identifiable most commonly by periods of intense heat, warm skin, and sweating, hot flashes are unquestionably uncomfortable and one of the more common complaints of menopause. However, after enduring decades of symptoms of PMS, which tend to include variable mood swings, headaches, fatigue, body aches, trouble sleeping, and bloating, the end of menstruation may be welcomed by some women. As unpleasant a transition as menopause can be, new research may be able to help mitigate the discomfort commonly associated with hot flashes and other related symptoms.
