Maintaining a healthy fitness level is part of living a healthy lifestyle. That said, there is a lot of fitness advice out there, making it hard to determine what actually works. Sometimes it can make you feel like giving up, but that is not the best course of action. If you follow these tips, you can stay healthy and live a good lifestyle.

Simple push-ups can do wonders to tone your triceps. Only instead of doing a normal-style push-up, you can directly target the triceps by turning your hands in 45 degrees, until your fingertips are facing each other. This is the most effective way to tone triceps.

Don’t do crunches as your sole abdominal exercise. It has been shown that for every 250,000 crunches, only 1 pound of fat is burned. You really are not doing as much exercise as you thought if you are just doing crunches. Use other exercises to get the best results on your abs.

The easiest thing to learn is that you should life heavy weights for shorter times. Choose the muscle group you want to work. Start by lifting light weights to warm up. The warm-up set should be 15-20 reps. Regarding your second set, you should select a heavier weight where you do about 6 to 8 reps. For your third set, add five more pounds of weight.

Having a hard, defined six-pack will not be achieved through exercise alone. Abdominal exercises do strengthen your muscles; however, they don’t burn belly fat. If your goal is washboard abs, try altering your diet and focusing on cardiovascular exercises.
