
Nothing ruins a morning more than hearing the alarm go off, waking up, and feeling anything but refreshed. Sleep deprivation has a way of making a good day go sour in just a matter of minutes. When we lack sleep, it brings on a wealth of emotions as well as bad behaviors. These bad behaviors could result in an afternoon nap, a forgetful memory, even an expanding waistline. Backed by scientific research, experts now show that poor sleep is directly correlated with weight gain. A brain chemical is released, resulting in eating more calories throughout the day, yet many of those calories are coming from salty or sweet snacks.
