Lesser-Known Risk Factors for Diabetes

If you thought you were off the hook just because you were thin, a diabetes diagnosis may come as a shock to you. Maybe you’ve always been able to eat whatever you want without gaining any weight, and so you’ve never even considered that you had to watch what you eat. But even if you eat right, exercise on a regular basis, avoid excess sugars, and have never struggled with obesity, diabetes can still be a problem if you’re ignoring other aspects of your health. Other things can also increase your risk of type 2 diabetes, some of which you may never have even considered. Diabetes risk factors like hormonal imbalance, exposure to toxins, and stress are harder to see and therefore harder to diagnose and treat without delving deep into your health history.
