You can boost your metabolic processes, gain muscle mass, burn a greater number of calories through strength training. Give every muscle group a minimum of 24 hours rest between each workout.

When you set a goal to increase your fitness level, check with your family physician first. If you want to build muscle, you need lift heavy for fewer repetitions. Start by choosing a muscle group. Do a warm-up set by lifting weights that are easy to lift. Do 15-20 repetitions to warm your muscles up. The next set should include about 6 to 8 repetitions with a heavier weight. Add about five more pounds and repeat.
